Online theatre with Coffee & Tea, The Story & Me.

Last week we was very excited to host our first ever online theatre performance presented by Black Country Touring with Coffee & Tea, The Story & Me by Jake Oldershaw.

Due to current circumstances our NAC theatre is currently closed to the public. But that did not stop live theatre coming to an NAC audience on Thursday 14th of May, with thanks to the special efforts of our partners at Black Country Touring and writer and actor Jake Oldershaw, who together presented a free performance live from Jake’s house, hosted by NAC and delivered to our audience’s living rooms via an app called Zoom.

An intimate audience of just 12 were handpicked and invited via e-mail innovation, we decided to reward how regular NAC theater bookers for this special online performance. The small warm-hearted story was perfectly formed to find the extraordinary in the everyday, delving deep into the little things we take for granted in stories of tea and coffee.

Some of our audience members enjoy Thursday’s Evening performance.

After the show, our online audience then had the opportunity to ask Jake a question in a live Q&A, followed by another chance to talk amongest ourselves about the show and digitally share what coffee, tea cake or bite to eat we had during the performance.

This trail in live theatre is now being reviewed by Black Country Touring and maybe the start of a new venture into online theatre for Wolverhmapton audiences.
