Portuguese visitors – Urban Girls meet rural Boys

Fances Land, Co-director of Foursight Theatre writes:

For two weeks in May we played host to Portuguese theatre company, Teatro Do Montemuro. Over the last eight years we have been Foursight rehearsaldeveloping a relationship with this company based in the wilds of Portugal’s northern mountains, in the tiny village of Campo Benfeito.

During the two weeks they were here at NAC we began to develop a script and music and looked at how we could work with the different languages. The end result will be ‘ Pertencia – the butcher baby’s tale’which opens at the National Theatre in Porto this October and tours the UK in March 2011.
