JOB VACANCY – Community Arts Development Officer
Newhampton Arts Centre is a busy arts centre based in Wolverhampton. On a historic site of the former Wolverhampton Municipal Grammar School, we are home to over thirty creative artists and organisations including a radio station, youth theatre and print workshop. There are 20 regular classes each week; and in the theatre we bring fantastic live concerts to the city. Already this year we’ve hosted British Sea Power, A Certain Ratio and Gaz Coombes. We have a fast-developing theatre programme for families and adults; and we’ve well-respected contemporary jazz and folk performance series.
We are now looking for a Community Arts Development officer (24 hours per week) to join our team at NAC. Are you passionate about the positive difference the arts can make in people’s lives? Have you great people skills and an arts background? We’d love to hear from you.
The post-holder will have responsibility for the development of NAC’s hugely popular families programme for children; for the development of its community and outreach programme; for the Startart and other schools projects; and for community initiatives such as Paint The Day; Fun Palaces Wolverhampton; and our summer creative activities schemes with Wolverhampton Libraries.
This is an exciting time to be joining NAC, as we build on our successful first year of Arts Council England National Portfolio status, and expand and enhance our programmes and their impact with our communities.
The Job Description and Application form are available from firstname.lastname@example.org.
The closing date for applications is Friday 27 September and interviews are on Weds 9 October in Wolverhampton.
