Newhampton Arts Centre is looking for a Project Manager

Newhampton Arts Centre is looking for a Project Manager for its Community Mapping project which will take place in 2022. The Manager will shape five artist commissions which will each work with a different community group in Whitmore Reans, the neighbourhood around NAC.

NAC is a busy community arts centre and after a period when its activities were greatly restricted it is now seeking to support the neighbourhood as it recovers from the impact of COVID. We are sure that there is more that NAC could and should be doing. Rather than taking a decision ourselves we would like to find out more about what is needed by co-creating work with our local communities.

As an arts centre we want artists to lead this process of discovery and display, through the commissioning of 5 artists to work with groups in Whitmore Reans and through a process of discussion and co-creation make maps of communities, networks, activities and needs.

The project ends with a public exhibition and ‘town hall’ event drawing the stakeholders together to debate and ultimately make recommendations to NAC as to what additional role(s) are most needed.

The deliverables for the role include the management of five artist commissions and the organisation of the final exhibition and event. The role will be supported by NAC’s Community Arts Development Officer.

The budget will be agreed with the programme manager and includes £25,000 for the five commissions.

For project management services NAC will pay a fee of £8000.00 (excl. VAT) representing approximately 1 day per week for 10 months. This is inclusive of all travel and accommodation costs for the Programme Manager.

NAC’s Community Mapping project is funded by the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation.

To apply please get the full Tender Brief by emailing admin@newhamptonarts.co.uk or download at the link below.

Closing date is Friday 10 December and interviews (in person or via Zoom) will be held on Thursday 8 December.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Trevelyan Wright, CEO via the above email address.
