Postcards of Kindness: Art Science Workshop

The Art-Science Workshop is Taking place in Room 5 of the Studio Block 1PM – 3PM

Did you know that being kind make makes us healthier?

Hear about the positive biological health effects taking place inside our bodies when we are kind and create a fine-art postcard to share ideas through drawing and watercolour washes. Artist Susan Brisco will offer friendly support with your designs and technique. Each postcard will be displayed in a final exhibition at NAC in March 2022.

Creative Black Country has been awarded Arts Council funding to develop a local programme (Offsite 9) supporting artists to create work that will add value and compliment the main British Art Show 9 show in Wolverhampton. 

Offsite9 is a programme complimenting British Art Show which takes centre stage in Wolverhampton from January to April 2022. Offsite9 will feature new works and commissions by creatives in the region who will occupy city spaces and transform them into exciting experiences. With 22 creative commissions, people’s podcasts, tours, talks and collectable print, Offsite9 invites you to experience great art in Wolverhampton with and by local people. 

The British Art Show is a landmark touring exhibition that celebrates recent art made in Britain. Organised every five years by Hayward Gallery Touring, next year the exhibition brings the work of contemporary artists to four cities across the UK, Aberdeen, Manchester, Plymouth and Wolverhampton. The show explores three overarching themes – healing, care and reparative history; tactics for togetherness; and imagining new futures.

In Wolverhampton we will look at how we live with and give voice to difference. BAS9 comes to Wolverhampton in January 2022 for 4 months.

Creative Black Country is working with a team to develop the ‘Offsite 9’ programme over the next year. The team includes: Asylum Art Gallery, Flexus Dance, DASH, Bobby Tiwana, Fused, Nelson Douglas and Eagle Works. – Creative Black Country
