NAC are delighted to announce that ABK ‘Hell’ has become a permanant beer on the centre’s bar giving audiences the chance to enjoy a truly authentic Bavarian Lager.

Steeped in history, the ABK dominated the world’s beer competitions from the late 1800’s, winning dozens of awards and Gold medals. Today, the Aktien Brewery continues to exclusively use only the finest locally grown Hallertau hops and grains from the same local farms they have been using for over 700 years.

Hell [5.0% ABV] is described as a light, bright and very satisfying beer with a lightly golden and bubbly, medium white head that steadily shrinks to a thin foamy lace, the aroma is soft and sweet with grain and very flowery hops. The taste is full bodied grain with lots of green apple and light but persistent hints of pine and herbs, with a light bitterness that persists through to the finish.

The multi-award winning beer has been a guest on the centre’s theatre bar for the last few years but the decision to permanently serve the beer came quite easily as ABK Hell became Crowned as the World’s Best Lager at the International Beer Challenge 2021.

Bar Manager, Christopher Meddings, said “It’s been a pleasure working with ABK and Hell has always been a customer favourite and a highly requested beer in the theatre bar so it was a pretty easy decision to give it a permanent spot!”

Eminently satisfying.

The bar at NAC is located in the theatre and serves a variety of lagers, cider, wines and spirits as well as a range of soft drinks and snacks and is open at all the centre’s public performances. The bar accepts card and cash payments and is run by our team of highly trained site staff.
